Some helpful tips I learned from this video include holding control, which allows you to skew the picture. To edit a layer, you right click on it and rasterize it. Ctrl-u allows you to edit the hue, saturation, and lightness of an image, and ctrl-i inverts it. You can add text by pressing the type tool on the left (T). Layer masks allow you to erase things without actually completely erasing them.

The move tool (v), allows you to move any unlocked layer around. The art board tool allows you to select a portion of an image and it creates a new art board in the same canvas. The lasso tool is a selection tool that allows you to free-handedly select by clicking and dragging. The magnetic lasso tool recognizes the edges as you select something. The patch tool allows you to select something and either replace the selection with whatever you drag the selection on top of (source) or move the object and blend the edges of it (destination).

Holding the space bar allows you to move the document around. To remove blemishes, you can use the spot healing brush tool (j), and paint over the blemishes. Another way to do this is to use the healing brush tool, which allows you to choose what is replacing the blemish. To crop an image, you use the crop tool (C) and drag the edges.
